Phil Boyle
Managing Director

Our MD Phil is a Chartered Engineer with first class degrees in engineering and maths, a Masters in Avionics Systems and another in Management Sciences accordingly. He is also Hogan HPI, HDS, MVPI and SHL OPQ accredited and similarly, BPS Level A/Level B+ qualified in psychometrics. At the same time, a past president of the global Royal Aeronautical Society(RAeS), and a charity trustee for over 20 years. Phil chaired the RAeS’s Board of Trustees from 2012 to 2017 and in addition was awarded the Society’s Sir Robert Hardingham Sword for outstanding service.

Originally an operational pilot in the RAF, Phil retired from flight duties in the mid 1980s. As a consequence he took a job with a Mayfair-based management consultancy. And from here on was headhunted into one of the UK’s leading executive recruitment consultancies. Ultimately as an aerospace and defence specialist. Finally co-founding Ramsey Hall in 1991.

First and foremost Phil is a ‘generalist’ executive recruiter by design. However his experience in aerospace, engineering and, moreover, manufacturing have in addition led to him specialise in these areas accordingly. Another of Phil’s strengths lies in the not for profit sector where he similarly possesses outstanding sector knowledge. As a consequence, he’s recruited extensively at Board, Senior and Specialist levels for high profile charities and FTSE 100 companies. As Ramsey Hall’s MD, Phil has arguably transformed the recruitment and selection model. For example, overseeing the seamless integration of best practice psychometric assessment, and candidate selection, into a single streamlined process. The result is a unique recruiting practice that identifies top leadership talent at a global level. And, above all, with over 300 board hires under his belt and counting, Phil, as a consequence, is uniquely positioned to do this.

Matthew Davis

Ramsey Hall’s Director Matthew has an MSc in Performance Management & Workplace Learning. From the esteemed Centre for Labour Market Studies, University of Leicester. In addition, he’s a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and moreover, the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM). As a result in 2016, Matthew earned The Advanced Diploma in Corporate Governance from the ICSA. Furthermore, he is British Psychological Society Level A and B (Intermediate Plus) qualified. First and Foremost in the delivery of SHL OPQ, MBTI FIRO B. In addition, to the Hogan HPI, MVPI and HDS suite of assessment tools.

Arguably a highly skilled Organisational Development consultant. Matthew brings extensive experience of talent management, business psychology, leadership consultancy, and ultimately resourcing to Ramsey Hall. Which, by the same token, benefits both our UK and international clients accordingly.

For this reason, typical projects undertaken by Matthew include one-on-one psychometric assessment and, consequently, executive appraisals. And, at the same time, Executive coaching & development for board members and senior teams in organisations redesigning structure. Moreover, Matthew oversees our Ramsey Hall assessment and development centres. In addition to delivering performance and change management coaching. By and large designed to improve client costs and employee productivity at all levels. Similarly, many of the enterprise wide projects Matthew delivers also include team and organisational capability assessment, for instance, with gap analysis.

Recent successes have included:

  • CEO recruitment, and subsequent board development, for a major not for profit organisation. Consequently achieving ‘transformational change’ to both leadership and capability alike.
  • Board appraisal and development to help a PE backed manufacturer improve performance. Ultimately, this was as part of a ‘change readiness’ process and corporate governance initiative.
  • Board recruitment and selection for a global defence manufacturer. First and foremost, chairing and moderating all panel interviews.
  • Extensive interpretation and, as a result, feedback of online assessments for all levels of employee.
  • Competency framework and performance management systems design
  • Change management advisory for production led organisations. As part of performance excellence and continuous improvement projects
  • Management due diligence and capability appraisals, pre and post, candidate acquisition.

Kevin Rodgers
Associate Director

Kevin is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist with a MSc in Occupational Psychology and currently researching a PhD investigating Authenticity and Internal Communication.

He has extensive experience designing and applying psychometric tests, for both selection and development, and worked for several years with SHL, one of the biggest names in people measurement. During this time, he trained over 3000 people on the BPS Level A and B programmes and designed countless assessment processes examples of which include Graduate Recruitment, ‘Day in the Life’ immersive development programmes, high level Police assessments and large scale and general recruitment processes.

Kevin specialises in conducting one-to-one executive assessments, using a range of innovative approaches, which are, typically, combined with follow-on coaching and support. This approach gives significant value to the individual and creates self-sufficiency or our clients. His experience in executive assessment has led to Kevin developing leadership development programmes that are tailored to meet organisational needs.

Kevin has over 15 years of experience working on worldwide projects and has worked with clients in Europe, most Middle Eastern countries, India, Hong Kong, Africa and has even assessed music industry executives in Hollywood. He has developed multi-level, value referenced and leadership behavioural frameworks for several UK and International clients. Each project has balanced solid psychological best practice with the pragmatism to ensure a commercially viable outcome.

His first career was in electrical and electronic engineering which, with wide engineering experience in subsequent roles gives him experience and first-hand knowledge in industrial environments.

Outside of work, Kevin plays drums in a rock band and rides and restores motorcycles.

Mandy Clarke
Associate Director

Mandy is a Chartered HR professional with over 25 years’ international and multi-sector experience.  Mandy Clarke

Mandy has a successful track record as a commercial HR, organisational development and change management consultant and interim with expertise in the delivery of change, business improvement and robust people solutions to transform organisational performance.

Mandy has been the Chief People Officer and HR Director in challenging and complex organisations in defence, engineering, transportation and support services. She has led on the people strategy and organisation development delivering successful outcomes and results.

Mandy is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development; a Fellow of the Institute of Directors; and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. Mandy has a Master of Arts in Human Resource Management.

Mandy is a non-executive director at Radian Group; GreenSquare Group and at IPSE (the Association of Independent Professionals and the Self Employed). She chairs two remuneration and nominations committees, and is a member of two audit and risk committees. Mandy was formerly a trustee and chairman of Wiltshire Air Ambulance.

Mandy is a qualified programme leader (MSP, PRINCE2) and an invaluable coach to leadership, project and functional leaders.
